17 June 2019, London: GoMedia has expanded its onboard infotainment offering by agreeing a partnership with hardware provider, Advantech, to create a seamless experience for passengers across the UK rail network.
The collaboration will see GoMedia’s infotainment platform being integrated into Advantech’s ARK 2250R embedded box PC, affording a high-speed Wi-Fi connection for even more rail passengers in the UK.
Roger Matthews, Managing Director at GoMedia, says: “Advantech becomes the latest hardware partner for GoMedia, meaning that passengers will experience the same onboard infotainment experience – with access to their favourite TV boxsets, films, games and news – no matter which operator they are travelling with.”
The ARK 2250R, which is EN50155, EN50121, IEC61373 certified for in rail use, offers a consistent high-speed Wi-Fi service via its 6 th Generation Intel Core processor and built-in remote management software, ensuring a friction-free experience for rail users.

Due to the stackable extension capability of the ARK solution it can be used for a wide range of applications, such as safety monitoring, BYOD entertainment, travel information, cabin environment monitoring and as an alarm system.

GoMedia’s growing network is just one of several innovations the company is spearheading to streamline the passenger journey.
