National Express Coaches, the largest operator of scheduled coach services in the UK linking more than 900 destinations.

Their challenge

National Express was keen to enhance the passenger experience and create a point of differentiation on journeys that on average are 2.5 hours.

The solution

GoMedia created an on board entertainment service (VUER – View, Unwind, Enjoy, Relax) with content from ten partners including Sky, NOW TV and hayu, Universal Pictures, Sony, Warner Bros, Cartoon Network and Universal Pictures. The mix of content was tailored to meet the needs of the 18 to 25 years demographic that makes up a significant proportion of National Express Coaches’ passengers. 

The service can be accessed via a browser or the VUER app with news, sport and weather updated throughout the day and other content refreshed quarterly. Customers can also enjoy a range of magazines through the service.

With many passengers onboard for several hours entertainment helps reduced the perception of journey time.

In 2017 VUER won the Gold Award for Innovation at the UK Coach Awards
