London, 26 October 2018: GoMedia is announcing the opening of its first office outside the UK in Tokyo, with the aim of bringing its leading onboard infotainment services to the country’s transport industry.
Headed up by industry veteran Mr Tetsu Shibuya, GoMedia Japan will focus on working with rail and station operators ahead of the 2020 Olympics.
Matt Seaman, CEO at GoMedia, says: “With tourist numbers predicted to double over the next two years, transport operators are looking for innovative ways to guide, entertain and drive revenue from the increase in new passengers. I am therefore delighted to welcome Tetsu san as the new managing director of GoMedia Japan. We are looking forward to developing our business here and working with many operators over the coming months to deliver a fantastic range of services in time for the Olympics.”
Tetsu Shibuya, managing director of GoMedia Japan, adds: “It is great to join the GoMedia team at such an exciting point of the company’s development. Japanese operators have been impressed by the services that GoMedia has launched in Europe and the US and are searching for similar solutions in time for the world’s greatest sporting event. Japan sees over 7.5 billion passenger journeys on rail every year and no doubt there will be a significant boost during the Olympics.”
