Bringing industry-first real-time personalised journey information to TPE passengers

Our client

Our industry-first partnership with Rail Delivery Group sees GoMedia become the only company to truly harness Darwin Data and, along with detailed GPS mapping, enable onboard personalised journey information for passengers. TransPennine Express, a customer of GoMedia’s since 2017, was the launch operator for the service in February 2019.

The opportunity

Providing passengers with real-time personalised information about their journey has long been an ambition of GoMedia’s. Now, in conjunction with Rail Delivery Group and TransPennine Express, through the operator’s onboard infotainment system, Exstream, we are taking a major step towards enabling a truly connected rail journey. Intelligent, customised information makes the transition from one mode of transport to another as seamless as possible for travellers – the start of a revolution that we are excited to be leading.

The solution

The service onboard TransPennine Express trains shows passengers key information relevant to their journey such as platform numbers, updated arrival and departure times and at-destination info. This information is updated in real-time and is accessible through the operator’s complimentary WiFi and GoMedia-developed Exstream platform.
